Dominica Island 2017

We had the good fortune to visit this island paradise for about a week in March. Enjoyed many delicious meals, coconuts and beverages while exploring the beaches and jungles of this exotic location. Hope to return one day but for now this video will have to do! #dominica #island Song credits: Himeji Furusato - My Hometown by robwalkerpoet (c) copyright 2012 Licensed under a Creative Commons Sam...
The road to Coffeeriver Cottages from bridge outside airport
Переглядів 817 років тому
Spent a great week at Coffeeriver Cottages - looking forward to returning some day! Here is a video I shot of the drive from the bridge just outside the airport to the cottage. It's about 1 mile (10 minutes) to the property from the Douglas-Charles Airport ~ enjoy!
Coffeeriver Cottage walk to river

Had a wonderful visit to the island of Dominica and stayed at the beautiful Coffeeriver cottages (link below). Here is a video of the short walk from the cottage we were staying in to a refreshing dip in the river. www.coffeeriverdominica.com/index.php?whichpage=home
Ahh, the value of decent car covers when you can't garage your prized vehicle. Yes!!
nice video ,I noticed you didn't flog the gearbox ,good driver
A superb video showing the joy and exhilaration to be had driving a truly iconic British classic. Top marks !
Magnifique ! From France, i wish i had this jewel in my garage ! ❤
Nice colour, nice sound, nice countryside 😎
Do you still sell the kart?
i was a 11 yrs old in 87 so wild how much filming changed over the years
Thanks! RWB ❤
Gorgeous video! Well done mate! Perfect soundtrack. I can't wait to see, hear, smell, touch, and taste Dominica! What a treat for the senses. The sound of those birds, the rivers and ocean beach. All connected by beautiful mountain bike track! Wow! 🖖
Congratulations on a wonderful car. I'm from the great white north and have had many sport cars throughout the years and I still have one as a senior. You might enjoy your drive a bit more if the driver's back of the seat was squared up with your body and the sound of the exhaust was repaired to give the wonderful Triumph a chance to sing! . . Just suggesting; it's a wonderful automobile!
I had a '62 TR3 (British Racing Green) back in '75 and drove it home from British Columbia to Nova Scotia that winter. I took 3 weeks to go across. Arrived in Halifax on Christmas eve. The coldest spot along the way was -55C in White River, Ontario. That sweet car worked like a charm as it purred it's way across the country. My brother back home had a silver '59 MGA and we had such a blast with those two cars zipping around the Maritimes. Gotta love those classic British sports cars!

No wayyyyy.... just heard about this! "Hey Mibles"!!!
Well, that was fun. I had (almost) the exact same auto in 1970; a 1959: red, steel wheels like yours, side curtains. The floor pans had already rusted out (road salt in MN). Driving in the rain, my GF would have to lift her feet up to avoid getting wet. No syncho's in first gear, but the little beast could easily take off in second when needed. 13" steering wheel right in your chest, elbows flared out for the proper British driving style.
Hi Mike, still driving your TR3? Nice roads! Thanks
Yes indeed! Just drove down to Laguna Seca raceway during Monterey car week for the historic racing.
@@miles0094 haha great! Love your videos, sound is great! Drive my own TR3 in the Netherlands, but the weather is mostly cloudy and lots of showers, so didn’t got much driving experience this year. So youtube on my phone listening to the sounds of your video makes me happy haha
What is the symbolism of the "football monument" that the players slap when entering?
Some would say that’s when the music starts
Hey Miles Beautiful car. Curious …..how tall are you?..
I’m 6ft 2inches. Plenty of leg room in these cars!
@@Minderbender94 Thanks Miles. I’ve always admired these, but have never sat in the cockpit, and I’m 6’3”. Going to look at a1961 to purchase later this week. Any tips on problem areas I might look for with her??
@@wdmd11 Rust is a big concern with these older cars so I would def get under the car and check the frame and bottom fenders/door jam. It's pretty common for these cars to leak some amount of fluids so don't be too alarmed when/if you see some oil. I'd checked the engine compression and make sure all lights work. 5 speed transmissions are desirable so if the car you are looking at has one, that is a bonus! Good luck!

Finally seeing the rear seat put to use ! Seems the dog was getting too much wind in the eyes though. Hope he came back in the follow up car . =)
A TR3 in its element, not a laser straight and flat concrete highway through the wheat fields of Kansas or Nebraska.
Electric cars will never be this cool or exhilarating.
Hi Miles. Love your film. I have the same car except mine is a '57 smallmouth. We drive similarly. Mione is getting a much needed servicing by my mechanic. We are converting to rack and pinion. If anyone else has done this I would be curious if anyone else did this
I'm glad you made this video 🙂👍 I need to rewrite my social networking on Dominica cause all my friends left the island n went to America n joined US Army 😕....
What a nice car. Thanks for the ride. Next trip I want to drive!!
You have shot from some new and good angles. Well done!
Miles S, super car, second to no one! Great video, not to long, not to short, comprehensive, beautifully made, both shots and edition. Could easily have “Coast Union Mock Rock” or even “Lian and Gramps” as the soundtrack, but I’m ok with your choice since the most important was to listen the wonderful 911 engine. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for posting. The sound and view brought back some great memories for me. I could almost smell the fresh air and feel the warm humid wind while driving those winding, hilly WV roads of my youth. My first car was a 61 TR3, green, purchased in May of 1970. Had so much fun driving, working and learning on that car.
"To be continued?" I SHOULD CERTAINLY HOPE SO!
No seatbelts... I believe that cars that never had them are NOT required to have them, however... is it wise to continue without? Still, it's good to see that a TR3 can hold its own on a (spectacularly beautiful) highway.
These actually do have lap-style seatbelts installed from the factory. Not sure they would help in most circumstances though, best to avoid any collision for sure!
Calibishie my hometown
what a thrill it must be, to drive a TR3!! My Dad's first car was a Maroon 1959. Sadly, the throttle stuck, and He hit a curb and destroyed it. Thank god he wasn't on a twisty road, or I might not be typing this today! Thanks for the ride along.
The visuals of the trees, the sun, and the hood of the car is just so visual.
I had a TR4 and always liked TR3s. Recently I was in my truck and pulled up behind a beautiful TR3 at a left turn. He clearly had his left indictor on and his right turn signal was flashing. Oh Triumph.
Love the car - the music, not so much.
Why have music at all? It ads nothing and some people do not share your taste. Nice car though.
Totally agree. Wish I hadn't added it, but can't take it out now. Thanks for the feedback!
Great memories my first car was a 1957 tr3
One of my favorite UA-cam videos . Some of us just love to drive & shift gears & listen to that motor with the top down . No need for music or radio or even a passenger . Just you and the road and the Lord !
Thanks, James, glad you liked it! There are a few more drives on my channel if you want more.
Beautiful car, perfectly tuned, on some of the most beautiful roads I’ve seen. Hope you still own the car and will for many years.
Thanks Stephen, I still have the car and took it on this drive today actually. A bit cold today so had the top up and the side curtains on. Cheers.
we have a tr4 engine in a morgan 1956 super car...thank you more please..
Thanks Robert, I'm working on improving my camera rig for this car but if you check my channel I do have some other cool videos of the Triumph. Cheers.
I basically have an identical car, color and everything, except it's a 1958 and I don't have the luggage rack. Doing Hwy 1 in it is on my list (but I'm up in the Sierra Nevada's so it's a bit of a hike to get there). I've done the drive in a brand new 370Z convertible and that was also fun!
Best car for this road! I simply cannot explain how perfect the TR3 is for open air senic driving. It is the most "motorcycle like" experience you can have in a competent road going machine. YEP, I am getting older but there is still one more TR3 in my future - ANY TR3B models out there? I am your premium buyer for the right one. Cheers

Road this trail many times and always enjoyed the decent far more than accent!! Now I live in the Mid-West and miss those accents!
It is wonderful, but you are going way too fast for that road. Just a deer has to jump out? Great Falls, Va.
Boycott Greedy UA-cam spread the word!,!!

This is such a great UA-cam channel
